The bed arrived flat packed in 2 boxes. It looks exactly as it does on the picture. It was fairly straightforward to assemble but at first the gas struts did not seem to be working. I contacted the supplier and they immediately came back to recommended 2 people push on the metal frame to break the gas strut seal. Instead of following the instructions we made the bed up in full and put the mattress on top, with two people standing either side to push the bed down - and this seemed to work so much easier.The bed does not have a base at the bottom of the ottoman and therefore you are storing and items on the floor. It lifts up really easy, however unless you pull the bed down again equally on both sides (or directly in the middle) it does feel as though the metal frame may bend.
It does look good and for the price we are happy with it.
