About Bakugan Toys
The ultimate battle between the forces of good and evil (second only to sci-fi epic Star Wars), inspiration for Bakugan toys has been taken from the Bakugan Battle Brawlers - a thrilling Japanese-Canadian anime adventure series.
In a similar manner to the more well-known Pokemon range, Battle Brawlers are humans who own and befriend the Bakugan creatures and unleash them against their opponents. Whether you want to own a Bakugan-inspired accessory, collectible figure or get involved in the immersive Bakugan Trading Card Game, our OnBuy edit has you covered.

Experience the life of a real brawler by partaking in the popular Bakugan Trading Card Game and battling your way to victory. Ultimately, you’ll need to outpower your opponent and win all of your battles through strategy and cunning in this engaging card game!
If you’re new to the Bakugan realm, you can pick up everything you need to get involved by purchasing a comprehensive Bakugan Starter Set. To begin a battle, all you need is three Bakugan and their matching character cards, as well as six BacuCores and a deck of forty ability cards - all of which is included in a starter set. How to set up your Bakugan Trading Card Game deck

When building your deck, you should be aware that the types of Bakugan you possess (for example Darkus, Aquos and Pyrus), can only be used with their corresponding faction ability cards.
In total, there are six Bakugan factions that have various characteristics, giving them different strengths and weaknesses on the battlefield. By way of illustrating, Aquos is more precise during battle while Darkus packs a powerful punch. Choosing which Bakugan to thrust into battle is therefore a strategic decision that you’ll have to make if you want to up your chances of winning!
When it comes down to card types, there are two main types; character and ability. Each Bakugan comes complete with a character card that states both its B power and damage rating, alongside any special abilities below. Ability cards include Action cards, Flip cards, Evo cards and Hero cards, each with their own rules that allow for strategic gameplay.
Ultimately, there are a ton of rules, but once you get going you’ll pick them up in no time and there are always plenty of clear instruction videos out there to guide you through the complicated gameplay rules and strategies. Alternatively, if the trading card game sounds a little too complex for your liking, you can always opt for a Bakugan Battle Brawler figure instead for thrilling roleplay and recreation of your favourite television scenes.
