It's commonly believed that a name says a lot about you as an individual, studies show your name can influence your career choices, the way you look and even your behaviour!
With that in mind we wanted to see if there were any patterns between shopping habits and names, so took a look at our internal data from the last three years.
We were able to create a comprehensive list of the top male and female names of super spenders and super scrimpers, based on how much is spent per transaction and purchases of discounted or sale items. Check out the lists below to see if your name makes the top 40!

Along with researching the names, we also surveyed 3,000 of our customers to discover their common spending habits. The survey showed that two thirds (65%) of consumers have overspent while online shopping and almost half (45%) spend the majority of their disposable cash on food and drink.
The results also showed that the majority (88%) spend regularly online and nearly all, 97%, enjoy the online shopping experience.
When asked about money, 34% said they spend half of their monthly wage on shopping for consumer goods online, followed by 57% who said they spend approximately a third.
Cas Paton, founder and CEO of OnBuy.com said,
"With thousands of people going through our site daily, we see a host of shopping habits and trends, whether that's by name, age or location. Therefore, we thought it would be fascinating to see which names are synonymous with the top spenders onsite, and also the names of those who are more careful with their money, opting for deals and discounts over full-priced products. Who knew there's such a common parallel with names and shopping habits, there seems to be a lot more to a name than we initially thought!"
