Easy gin cocktail recipes to get your summer started

Nothing gives off beach vibes like sipping a cocktail in the sunshine - and with these easy gin cocktail recipes, you won’t need to stand in long airport queues to feel like you’re on holiday!
Gin cocktail essentials
As well as ice and a slice, you’ll need:
- Your favourite gin
- Sugar syrup - we recommend Monin for that fresh-from-the-bar taste
- Lemon juice
- Cocktail making kit, complete with a shaker, stirrer and strainer
- Spirit measures
- Cocktail glasses or tumblers
- Ice crusher (optional, but well worth it!)

Gin bramble recipe
Ingredients:
- 40ml gin
- 20ml sugar syrup
- 20ml lemon juice
- 10ml Crème de Mûre (blackberry liqueur)
- Blackberries and lemon slices, to garnish
- Ice cubes, to fill shaker
- Crushed ice, to fill tumbler
Method:
- Add the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.
- Fill a tumbler with crushed ice and pour over the mixture using a strainer.
- Drizzle the Crème de Mûre over the top and garnish with blackberries and lemon slices to finish.

Elderflower Collins recipe
Ingredients:
- 50ml gin
- 20ml lemon juice
- 10ml sugar syrup
- 10ml elderflower cordial
- Soda water, for topping up
- Mint sprigs and lemon slices, to garnish
- Ice cubes, to fill shaker
Method:
- Add gin, lemon juice and elderflower cordial to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for 8-10 seconds, or until the (stainless steel) shaker begins to feel frosty.
- Fill a highball glass with ice and strain the mixture over the top.
- Top with soda water (to taste) and use a stirrer to gently combine.
- Garnish with a few mint sprigs and lemon slices, and enjoy!

Sloe gin fizz recipe
Ingredients:
- 50ml sloe gin
- 20ml lemon juice
- 15ml sugar syrup
- 20ml egg whites
- 1 rosemary sprig, to garnish
- Ice cubes, to fill shaker
Method:
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the sloe gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup and egg whites, and shake vigorously.
- Use a cocktail strainer to remove the ice, and give the mixture another shake - this will make it nice and frothy!
- Pour the mixture into a tumbler and add a sprig of rosemary, to garnish.

Aviation cocktail recipe
Ingredients:
- 100ml gin
- 50ml lemon juice
- 50ml maraschino liqueur
- 25ml Crème de Violette
- Cocktail cherry and lemon peel, to garnish
- Ice, to fill shaker
Method:
- Add the gin, maraschino liqueur, Crème de Violette and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well, to combine.
- Using a strainer, pour the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with a cocktail cherry and lemon peel.

Negroni recipe
Ingredients:
Method:
- Fill a small, glass jug with ice and add the gin, sweet vermouth and Campari.
- Mix well using a cocktail stirrer, until the outside of the glass starts to feel cold.
- Strain into a tumbler and add a large, round ice cube.
- To finish, garnish with an orange slice.
