One of the most unique things about Absolut products is the brands’s ‘one source’ production ethos. This philosophy means that the company’s whole vodka making process takes place in and around the small Swedish village Åhus. Absolut’s master distillers create the pure vodka from just two main ingredients: water and winter wheat. The water is drawn from a special, dedicated well in Åhus, set deep into the earth to protect the water from impurities. The winter wheat Absolut uses is specially cultivated to germinate in autumn and grew for a year. This purity of purpose is one of the reasons that Absolut vodka is so clean to the taste and so smooth going down.

Once the vodka has been prepared flavourings may be added to the alcohol to create one of the many flavoured vodkas that Absolut are famous for. Over the decades Absolut have created many different Vodka infusions. Some, like Absolut Citron (first distilled in 1988), are a mainstay of the brand and are still popular today.
