The Elgar Cello concerto is the substantive piece on this album and Sheku gives an excellent performance. The only downside are the audible breathing noises made by the cellist throughout the piece which could have been reduced by a better engineered recording, The other pieces vary in quality and appeal and seem like fill-ins to stretch the content to an acceptable length for an album.
