Burgess Dog Food FAQs

Can I feed my dog rice with Burgess Dog Food?

It's safe for your dog to eat plain white rice, as long as it's cooked. However, there should be a balance of the nutrients your dog needs – proteins, fat from oil and meats, fatty acids, calcium and carbohydrates.

Can I walk my dog before and after a meal?

It's advisable that you don't walk your dog immediately before or after a meal. This can lead to canine bloat or, even worse, GDV (gastric dilatation-volvulus). This condition is more common in large dogs. Leave at least one hour either side of meal times before taking your dog on a walk.

Can I add bread to the Burgess Dog Food meals?

Bread is not bad for dogs if they do not have any allergies. It doesn't cause any stomach problems and can be used as treats now and then. As with all treats, bread needs to be given to your dog in moderation, in accordance with a balanced diet and exercise.
