Drilled & Grooved: The key benefits of the drilled discs are the drills dissipates heat more effectively and breaks down surface gases when braking at high speeds. The holes are laser drilled through the discs which reduces brake mass. The drilled discs also keep the brake temperatures rapidly low which helps keep the pad surface from reaching very high temperatures from the hot surface gasses.
Silver Coating: All Kinetix sports discs are Painted Silver to prevent the discs from corrosion in areas not swept by the brake pad. Optimum brake performance is realised after the zinc coating has been removed from the pad track area, which can take up to 100 miles. It is normal that a small amount of noise is exhibited from Kinetix slotted rotors when they are first applied. This noise gradually diminishes and at around 1,000 miles of road use the noise will be minimal. By nature of the way this product works, Kinetix sport slotted discs will always make some noise and this is not cause for concern, it is not a safety issue and is not recovered by warranty.
