The effectiveness of Hycosan Extra Eye Drops is thanks to its main active ingredient, sodium hyaluronate. This chemical is naturally produced by your body for use in the eye's ‘tear film', which protects, nourishes and lubricates the eye. A lack of this protective chemical is the root cause of many an irritated eye.
These extra strength eye drops are packed full of this healing chemical. Sodium hyaluronate makes up 0.2% of this eye solution's formula, compared to the 0.03% offered by other dry eye drops. This makes Hycosan Extra suitable for alleviating symptoms of the most severe and chronic dry eye diseases.
What's more, Hycosan Extra are preservative free eye drops. While medical preservatives are a vital part for suppressing the growth of fungi and bacteria in our medications. Unfortunately, while these preservatives are very effective against pathogens they aren't very friendly to the eye. To prevent any negative effects Hycosan have done away with them entirely. That said, despite being preservative free eye drops, you can use Hycosan Extra for up to 6 months after opening them, provided you store the bottle appropriately.
These dry eye drops are also suitable for use with contact lenses. The formula has been designed so that it won't interfere with the functioning of your lenses, so if you rely on them to go about your day, you can rest assured that using Hycosan Extra will not limit your life, only set you free.
