Memory Lane CD Collection | 1950s Music Compilation Description

Remembered for the optimism of the post war period and - thanks to Elvis, Ginsburg and Dean, to name a few - the emergence of the first teenage countercultures, the 1950s are a decade like no other. As defining for the decade as its social movements were its music. For a diner jukebox packed full of 1950s music hits, you have to pick up the Memory Lane CD Collection!

This whopping 10 CD collection has a staggering 200 hit records from the 1950s. This set features the very best songs from America’s post-war boom period, as well as some classic British tunes as well. Whether you lived through the fifties yourself and want to relive good memories, or you like to set the ambience for a ‘50s themed dinner party or murder mystery game, you’ll love travelling down Memory Lane with these classic songs. So dust off your poodle skirt, slip on your saddle shoes and get ready to jive the night away with the Memory Lane CD Collection!

Each Memory Lanes CD picks a different genre to go wild with. You can be serenaded by romantic songs from the best crooners of the period, including Dean Martin and Perry Como, or listen to hits from the Golden Age of Hollywood performed by acting legends like Doris Day and Gene Kelly.

In the 1950s, swing and big band were never bigger, while the hip new movements of bebop and cool jazz were waiting in the wings, ready for their spot in the limelight. Jazz defined 1950s music and there are plenty of standards to get your toes tapping and your hips swaying in this CD collection. There are big boisterous numbers from Frank Sinatra and the rest of the rat pack to slow, soothing songs from Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday that you can pick from.

Please note: All tracks are original recordings performed by the original artists as detailed in the track listings below except for the following songs, which have been re-recorded by the original artist or one or more members of the original group:

Memory Lane

I liked everything, it brought back memories of when songs were good, and were meaningful, I can't see people of today remembering songs from the past and artists like we have done.
