This was a bargain and as such I was worried about what kind of quality it would be upon arrival. When I opened the box I realised that the product was made quickly and to secure the sisal string, it was stapled with long metal staples instead of glued/sewn.Now considering this is for a cat to scratch-the metal staples are totally dangerous and inappropriate but instead of sending it back, I painstakingly pulled all of the staples out and sewed up the loose string ends with a needle and thread. It seems to have held so far but I feel that a product designed for cats to scratch and play-using metal staples is really dangerous and could result in serious injury to your kitty!
