Carrot Redsun F1 Description

Unwins Carrot Redsun F1 Seeds are a brilliant choice for gardeners looking to sow an unusual carrot variety. These are a maincrop Nantes-type carrot, whose large, cylindrical roots have a red skin and core, a great flavour and are rich in antioxidants.

Striking, burgundy red roots with exceptional flavour, this unique variety has a high nutritional value and is easy to grow. Enjoy these boiled, roasted or grated in salads.

Perfect for pots and containers
Prefers full sun

Sow: Mar to Jul
Harvest: Aug to Nov

Sowing Outdoors
Sow thinly, 1 cm deep, in shallow, pre-watered drills in soil that hasn't been manured in the last 12 months. Keep soil moist at all times. Protect early sowings with cloche or fleece.

Thinning
Thin seedlings to 5-8 cm apart. Avoid crushing the leaves, as their scent attracts carrot root fly.

Aftercare
Carrots thrive on light, stone-free, fertile soils. Use fleece to protect against low-flying carrot root fly. Roots store well if cleaned and packed in boxes of dry sand or compost.
