Chanoine Fr?res ?.They obtained the autorisation to dig the firts cellars in town of Epernay, following the Royal Order in 1728 authorising the sale of champagne in bottles. They travelled throughhout Europe to present their products and gained a stable clientele Regional Information: The Champagne province is located near the northern limits of the wine world. The high latitude and mean annual temperature of 10 ?C creates a difficult environment for wine grapes to fully ripen. Ripening is aided by the presence of forests which helps to stabilize temperatures and maintain moisture in the soil. The cool temperatures serve to produce high levels of acidity in the resulting grape which is ideal for sparkling wine Alcohol By Volume: 12
