With their ultra lightweight design, DEWALT Skimming Blades move mud effortlessly and with high sensitivity. The shorter blades are perfect for wiping down freshly applied tape or running behind flat boxes. The longer blades can be used to smooth out mud on walls/ceilings with a glass finish and minimal lap marks.

Although skimming blades are exceptional tools for drywall finishing, they are also precision tools and work most effectively when the blade edges are in pristine condition. DEWALT Drywall Skimming Blades have therefore been designed so that the stainless steel blade inserts can be replaced when dented, dinged or worn. Unlike other skimming blades on the market, DEWALT skimming blades can be refreshed to optimal condition at a fraction of the cost of replacing the entire blade.

The blade inserts are exceptional quality. They have been crafted from high precision 0.3mm European stainless steel and offer the perfect amount of flex for efficient, effortless skimming and smoothing. They also feature a rounded edge that keeps the corners from gouging freshly smoothed drywall compound or paper.

Changing out the blade insert on a DEWALT Skimming Blade is a simple process:

1. Remove one of the end caps.
2. Carefully slide out the old blade insert (the blades are sharp, so wear gloves if possible)
3. Swap in the new blade insert. The raised tabs at the back of the blade insert provide a secure friction fit in the blade housing.
4. Replace the end cap and the skimming blade is refreshed and ready to go.
