Excellent honest portrayal

This is a really sensitive and honest portrayal of the lives of the Cromer crab fishermen and their families. The portrait style photographs used for the book are really stunning and austere, they give real gravitas to the writing, which is a well balanced mix of author's description alongside firsthand accounts from members of the fishing community. The book covers a fascinating mix of factual descriptions about the workload and daily working routines adopted by the fishermen but also portrays the more delicate stories and feelings underneath the toil & grit side of it all, emotions and the human condition are thoroughly explored too.
