Study finds the average Brit will spend £755 on the world's favourite toy brand in a lifetime & has £160 worth of it stored in the house right now.

LEGO has long been one of the world's favourite toy brands, and has somewhat of a cult following, with interest in its products spanning generations. It's a common notion that everyone has at least some LEGO lying around in the house (and has accidentally trodden on it!), but as it's one of our best-selling toy brands, we wanted to find out just how much British people spend on it and which sets will cost you the most.

So, we commissioned a survey of 2,000 members of the public to reveal how much the average Brit spends on LEGO. We discovered that the average person will spend £755 on LEGO during the course of their life, and the average household is storing £160 worth of it.

In terms of the most expensive LEGO sets currently available to buy, the list includes a LEGO Star Wars 75252 Imperial Destroyer worth £649.99, a Hogwarts Castle set worth £349.99, and a Bugatti Chiron set worth £249.99.

On top of this, we also discovered where in the UK loves LEGO the most (based on our sales data), with Manchester coming out on top, followed by London and Edinburgh.

For the purpose of this study, OnBuy's toy experts only looked at LEGO sets currently retailing and available to buy, and haven't taken into account resale products or prices.
