As any hiker who's stepped in a deep puddle or been forced to slosh across a stream knows, sodden socks are a disaster when out on the trail. When your feet are wet, they're going to get very cold, particularly in chill weather. And we haven't even mentioned chafing or blisters yet! The answer is a good pair of walking gaiters, and the Trekmates Glenmore Ankle Gaiters will be a perfect fit!
Like all ankle gaiters for hiking, the Trekmate Glenmores bind around your ankle, wrapping you in a protective layer of fabric that runs from the top of your hiking boots to the bottom of your trousers. They're a top option for trail running and other hiking activities where you need maximum mobility, as they're the least constrictive form of walking gaiters.
This style means that they're easy to put on. A stirrup strap runs under your trail shoe's midsole. The strap is fully adjustable with a buckle so you can make it as tight as it needs to be without compromising your comfort. After you've secured the fit, all that's left is to wind the upper part of the gaiter around your ankle and secure it with the velcro patch and popper. The back panel stretches to allow plenty of give for running or quick hiking. They're so adaptable they can even fit onto trainers and running shoes.
Despite being so unobtrusive, Trekmate Glenmore Ankle Gaiters still provide a lot of protection. The upper panels of these walking gaiters are made from 3-layer Gore-Tex waterproof fabric. This breathable membrane will keep water out while letting your skin breath, and it has the added bonus of stopping dust and dirt from getting into your shoes as well. The bottom panels of these gaiters for hiking have polyester reinforced lower panels which gives them great abrasion resistance too.
