In September 1992, the RAF Vulcan bomber made its official final public appearance - and another truly great British aircraft officially passed into the pages of history. Vulcan A Farewell To Arms was especially made to record this historic last appearance and to capture all the power and majesty of this incredible warplane. The film went on to become the best-selling aviation video of all time and is now being made available on DVD for the first time ever. The film recalls the earliest days in the Vulcans career with the prototypes appearances at Farnborough in the 1950s and rare behind-the-scenes film of the V-Force at RAF Waddington including a simulated nuclear alert squadron scramble. Vulcan crew also provide a graphic firsthand account of the planes only wartime sorties - flying Black Buck missions to The Falklands to bomb Port Stanley Airfield. The highlight of the film, however, is the Vulcans final, thrilling appearance at RAF Cranfield, with a special escort flight from the world famous Red Arrows display team. Air-to-air shots from the Red Arrows chase plane and spectacular footage from the Vulcans flight deck record the bomber approaching Cranfield. Multi-camera coverage then captures the Vulcans final display in all its glory with some of the best footage of the aircraft ever recorded and including that now-famous Farewell message inside the bomb bay. As well as footage of the days leading up to the display, the film also features Vulcan XH558s final, sombre return to RAF Waddington to await its uncertain fate...
