Really pleased, arrived well packed and 3 days earlier than schedule. Really well made and easily assembled. Includes chain restraint. There are two sets of forks so I'm hoping the smaller ones are right for my front springs but they look correct. Would buy from this supplier again

Exactly what I needed.

The shopping experience on OnBuy.com was excellent, the price and delivery via Yodel was first class. The product arrived exactly as stated. The 1 Ton Car Spring Compressor is not for SUVs, with hindsight I would purchase the 3T. In compressing the springs for my Mercedes GLC I bent the up right, the 2" square angle post forward towards the spring, and blow the top off the hydraulic compression pump, which shot like a bullet into the side of the house. The reason for this was the lower section has too much play between the upward post and the part that slides up, there must be at least a 10mm gap and there is no roller which the unit does have on the back of the post. When the spring compressed I did not notice the front top edge of the slide which is connected to the pump had dug into the upright so when I was pumping to compress the spring the lower slide section was digging into the post and bang. The spring still needed 3cm of compression to fit the strut, so the spring was certainly not over compressed. Luckily even when damaged, the unit worked. I placed the handle of a 10" adjustable spanner in between the bottom slide unit and the post to stop it digging in and completed the job. There is no safety value to stop over compressing, hence writing this review, just so you know what to look out for and also how to stop the lower section digging into the post. See photo.

First it was far cheaper then anywhere else and the quality was pretty much identical with better known brands
Second it was easy to assemble and use and anyone who has tried assembling a car front damper with cheap spring compressors will tell you its flipping tricky and dangerous.
Once assembled the job was easy and far safer
As this compressor only stands about 4 feet high (1.2m0 It doesnt take up much storage space.
Buy one and save yourself a lot of agro!!
