Note: Be sure to use a suitable USB data cable. Some data cables can only be used for charging, not for data transfer and programming.
Hardware Setup: Connect the development board to the computer via the USB-to-UART interface. The software does not currently support a connection via the ESP32-S3 USB interface. The following steps use the USB-to-UART interface by default.
Software Setup: Please go to the "Quick Start" section and see the detailed installation steps to quickly set up a development environment and flash applications onto your development board. Specifications: Onboard ESP32-S3-1-N16R8. ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1 Development Board (N16R8). Development board module with ESP32-S3. ESP32-S3: -1 and ESP32-S3; -1U are universal Wi-Fi + low-power Bluetooth MCU modules with numerous peripheral interfaces, powerful 1/1U neural network processing capabilities, and signal processing functions. -1 uses an integrated PCB antenna, and ESP32-S3; -1U uses a connector for attaching an external antenna. 5V to 3.3V: Voltage converter, 5V input, 3.3V output. Pin headers: All available GPIO pins (except the Flash SPI bus) are routed to the development board's pin headers. See the pin header diagram for more information. USB-to-UART connector: Micro-USB connector: Can be used as the development board's power interface, to flash firmware onto the chip, and can also be used as a communication interface to communicate with the chip via the integrated USB-to-UART bridge. Boot button: Download button. Press and hold the Reset button while holding the Boot button to enter "Firmware Download" mode and download the firmware via the serial interface. Reset button: Reset button. ESP32-S3 USB connector: ESP32-S3 USB OTG interface, supports the full-speed USB 1.1 standard. The ESP32-S3's USB interface can be used as a power supply interface for the development board, for flashing firmware to the chip, for communicating with the chip via the USB protocol, and for JTAG debugging. USB-to-UART Bridge: Single-chip USB-to-UART bridge providing a transfer rate of up to 3 Mbit/s. RGB LED: Addressable RGB LED controlled by GPIO48. 3.3V Power LED: This indicator lights up when the development board is connected to USB power. Required Hardware: ESP32-S3 DevkitC-1, USB 2.0 data cable (standard Type A to Micro-B), computer (Linux, macOS) (Various batches) (May have different words, but this does not affect use)
