It can measure tiny particles larger than 0.8 microns, sense the smokes and pollen produced by tobaccos, and house dust, etc. It is small in size, light in weight and easy to install.
The GP2Y1010AU0F is an optical air quality sensor designed to detect dust particles in the air.Inside it, infrared light-emitting diodes and phototransistors are placed diagonally, enabling it to detect the reflected light from dust in the air. Even very fine particles such as tobaccos smokes can be detected.It is typically used in air purification
This sensor has a very low current consumption ( to 20mA, typical value 11mA) and can be used to 7VDC. The output of this sensor is an analog voltage, and its value is directly proportional to the dust concentration.
It can measure smile particles larger than 0.8 microns, sense the breath and pollen produced by tobaccos, and detect house dust, etc. It is small in size, light in weight, easy to install and widely used in air purifiers, ventilation air conditioners, exhaust fans and other products.

Detection principle:

The principle is as shown in the following figure. There is a hole in the center of the sensor that allows air to flow freely. LED light is directed and emitted. The content of dust is determined by detecting the light refracted by dust in the air.
