1. Wide Detection Range: This product uses a 240-370 nm photodiode to detect the UV light spectrum, covering the UVB and most of the UVA spectrum.
2. UV Sensor: This product features a true UV sensor instead of a calibrated light sensor. You can therefore convert the voltage to a UV index by dividing the output voltage by 0.1 V. However, the UV LED in this product has a wavelength of 400 nm. Do not use it if it is outside the sensor range.
3. Signal Gain: The signal level of the photodiode is very low, in the nanoampere range. Therefore, this product amplifies the operational amplifier to boost the signal to a more manageable voltage level.
4. Low power consumption: This product only requires a +2.5-5.5V power supply. As soon as the sensor detects a signal, the voltage increases.
5. Easy operation: This product is easy to use; it performs only one function and provides an analog voltage output without a complicated I²C setup program.
With this sensor, you can upgrade projects using photovoltaic cells. Due to the high infrared rejection rate, the ambient light sensor's sensitivity is close to that of the human eye.
