Fits all models from 1996 to 2011, for -V from 1997 to 2006, for Element from 2003 to 2011 and for from 2006 to 2014.
This replacement hood release latch is a repair for the plastic latch with part number [part number missing], which often cracks and breaks off from the cable. It can be installed in 5 to 10 minutes. This sale is NOT for the entire cable, but only for the replacement latch handle that fits the cable. Machined from a solid block of aluminum. A normal cable replacement would take between 1.5 and 2 hours. This replacement latch can be installed in minutes. To do this, remove the plastic corner footplate. Then, using side cutters, cut approximately 2.5 cm of the remaining plastic off the cable. (See photo.) Slide it over the cable, tighten the two set screws, reattach the plastic corner footplate, and you're done. Color: Black; Material: Aluminum
