The UPS HAT (D) is an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) expansion board designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi series. It features an onboard switching-mode lithium battery charging chip with power path management, a boost converter, and voltage/current monitoring circuitry, allowing for battery status monitoring via the I2C interface.
It utilizes a spring-loaded pogo pin connector design and is compatible with Raspberry Pi 3, 3B+, and 4B models. The onboard charging chip supports dynamic path management, ensuring a more stable power supply.
The onboard boost converter provides a stable 5V output. Communication via the I2C interface allows for real- monitoring of the module's status and measurement of parameters such as battery voltage, current, power, and remaining capacity.
Onboard battery protection circuitry prevents overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, and short-circuit conditions, ensuring safe and stable operation. An onboard MCU manages operations and supports a power- startup detection function.
