The M5CoreS3 SE is a lightweight version of the third-generation CoreS3 main unit of the M5Stack development kit series. It is based on the ESP32-S3 solution with a dual-core Xtensa LX7 processor clocked at 240 MHz and features integrated (2.4G) Wi-Fi. It has 16 MB of flash memory and 8 MB of PSRAM. Programs can be downloaded via the Type-C interface, which supports OTG and CDC functions, thus facilitating the connection of USB devices and the burning of firmware. The front panel features a 2.0-inch capacitive IPS touchscreen with a high-strength glass panel. Power is supplied by the AXP2101 power management chip and a 4-way current flow regulator, designed for overall low power consumption. An integrated microSD card slot and a BM8563 RTC chip enable precise timing and a sleep timer alarm function. For audio output, it utilizes a Hi-Fi 16-bit I2S amplifier chip, the AW88298, and an integrated 1-watt speaker. Audio input is handled by an ES7210 audio decoding chip with dual microphone input. The device housing has a separate on/off switch and a reset button (RST) with integrated delay circuitry on the side. Pressing and holding the reset button activates the program download mode.
