I had never heard of OnBuy.com previously, but this company came to my attention earlier in February 25 whilst searching for deals on a new Canon RF24-105 IS USM lens for my camera. At £910 including delivery, the OnBuy offering was approx. £70 cheaper than any other supplier's offering that I could find, and I was also offered £9.10 cashback to boot!.

When I then looked further into OnBuy before placing my order, I realised that this company is essentially a marketplace, through which other specialist suppliers market their products. However their TrustPilot reviews were, in the main, quite good.

I then discovered that the supplier offering the product I desired, was actually a Hong Kong-based company called Snow Wolf 3c. However, I found that their reviews were also reasonably good. So it was with some trepidation that I eventually placed my order on February 17th and paid the £910!

I received an immediate response from OnBuy, both acknowledging my order and predicting a delivery date of between 28th Feb 2025 and 3rd Mar 2025. Then there was silence for quite a few days, which given the value of my order, frankly made me a bit nervous!

However, I held my nerve and on February 22nd, I received an email from OnBuy confirming that my order had been shipped. This was followed by a further email two days later confirming that the order had been dispatched, together with a FEDEX tracking number. FEDEX then wrote on Feb 26th confirming that delivery would take place the following day, which it did!

The shipment was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition, so overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase, both in terms of the price I paid and the service. Strictly speaking, OnBuy and their supplier over-performed, because my new lens arrived a day ahead of the original, earliest predicted delivery date.

If I have just one small criticism, it would be that in view of the value of my order, I would have appreciated confirmation from the ultimate supplier, Snow Wolf 3c, a day or so after placing my order with OnBuy, that they had received my order and that it was being processed. This would have given me peace of mind.

Other than that however, all good........so I might well use OnBuy again, once my credit card account has recovered!
