The refractometer is used to measure the sugar content of raw grape juice, and the alcohol content in wine made from grape juice can then be estimated from the scale. It can also be used to assess grape juice fermentation by measuring alcohol content by volume. Range: Brix 0-40%, Alcohol 0-25%.

Easy to use: place 2 to 3 drops of the sample on the main prism, close the plate, and read the Brix value through the observation window. The design is based on the principle that liquids with different concentrations have different refractive indexes, making measurement quick and straightforward.

Calibration and temperature compensation: use 20 C water for zero calibration before measurement. The instrument features automatic temperature compensation from 0-30 C (ATC). For sugar readings, a temperature correction table is included in the manual to help obtain an accurate value at the ambient temperature.

How to use: open the lid and inspect the prism carefully with a soft cloth. Place a few drops of the solution to be tested on the detection prism, then gently close the lid to avoid air bubbles and spread the sample across the entire prism surface. Point the light entrance plate toward a light source or a bright area, observe the field of view through the eyepiece, and turn the eyepiece adjustment wheel until the blue and white boundary becomes clear. The scale at the dividing line is the concentration of the solution.
