Kettle as described and works well. It was just in warrantee period when it stopped working. After providing quite a bit of info Russel Hobbs replaced it. It was only then, on a hunch, that I checked the fuse - it had blown.
The surface coating does begin to wear off after a while, but that's OK - it's only a kettle after all.
I would recommend the kettle - good price and metal (I don't want to buy plastics for health and environmental reasons)

Really pleased with this kettle. It is a quiet and fast boiler. Above all it enables us to only boil just the right amount of water because of the markers inside the body which do actually work. In the current energy crisis it has proved a great improvement on our previous kettle and will make a difference. It is well made and looks very good too. The Lid opening button is very convenient.
