The LSM9DS1 is a multifunctional motion-sensing system--chip. It is equipped with 3-axis acceleration. Dynamometer, 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis magnetometer - 9 degrees of freedom (9DOF) in a single IC!
The LSM9DS1 is equipped with a digital interface, but even so it is very flexible: it supports I2C and SPI, so it is difficult to find an unavailable microcontroller. This IMU chip is really cool. We have placed it the quarter-sized splitter board that you are currently viewing!
The LSM9DS1 is one of the few ics that can measure the three key characteristics of motion (angular velocity, acceleration and heading) in a single IC. By measuring these three attributes, you can acquire a great deal of knowledge about the movement and direction of the object.
According to: acceleration expressed as x/y/z, angular rotation expressed as x/y/z, and magnetic force expressed as x/y/z. The LSM9DS1 Breakout has tags indicating the axes of the accelerometer and gyroscope, and these tags share a right-handed rule relationship with each other.
Each sensor in LSM9DS1 supports a wide range: the scale of the accelerometer can be set to 24, 8 or 16g, the gyroscope supports 245, 500 and 2000 / S, and the magnetometer has a scale range of 4, 8, 12 or 16 gauss.
