At the heart of this module is the MCP23017-E/SS chip, which supports the I²C communication protocol. It offers bidirectional 16-bit input and output control capabilities, significantly increasing the number of IO ports on main control chips like for Arduino and for Raspberry Pi.
The MCP23017 chip operates over high-speed IIC interfaces, supporting frequencies of 100KHz, 400KHz, and 1.7MHz. This feature ensures rapid data transmission and efficient performance in complex control systems.
