When there is dust in the air, the light will be reflected. At the other end of the sensor, there will be a light intensity receiver. The sensor determines the concentration of dust in the air based the value collected by the receiver. The light scattered by these dust enters the light receiving element as voltage output. It is commonly used in air particle pollutant detection and alarming, air quality detection, and other designs.
