About Nizoral

Whether you’re experiencing temporary dandruff or you’ve had this skin condition for some time, dandruff affects about 50% of us in our lifetime. While most of these people say that their dandruff negatively affects their confidence, a third of sufferers have avoided social situations altogether because they’re embarrassed by their dandruff! But fear not - Nizoral’s anti-dandruff shampoo helps you confidently say goodbye to your itchy and flaky skin.

How does Nizoral dandruff shampoo work?

Malassezia, one of the main causes of dandruff, is naturally occurring on our skin without usually causing any issues or irritation. However, for many of us, its interaction with our skin’s sebum can cause an immune response that encourages a rapid turnover of skin cells - that’s dandruff to you and me! This reaction can then cause a dry and inflamed scalp that can be sore and uncomfortable.

Specially formulated with the active ingredient ketoconazole, Nizoral gets to the source of the problem, fighting the fungal infection that causes dandruff. Dermatologically tested and fragrance-free, Nizoral’s anti-dandruff shampoo is kind on sensitive skin and soothing on damaged and itchy scalps. Nizoral works from the very first wash, with visible results in only two weeks of use.

Nizoral’s anti-dandruff shampoo is suitable for all hair types, and, like regular shampoos, it also cleans your scalp leaving hair feeling soft and shiny. Not only does it treat existing hair issues, but it also prevents future outbreaks of dandruff, so you can have confidence that your days of hiding your hair are over. Nizoral dandruff shampoo is suitable for adults and children over the age of 12. As the product is medicated, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before starting.

How do I use Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo?

Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo can be used just as you would a regular shampoo. Squeeze an amount of liquid (about the size of a pound coin) out of the bottle and lather it into wet hair and leave on the scalp for 3-5 minutes. Wash the shampoo out thoroughly ensuring you’ve got every last bit of shampoo from your hair. If you wish to wash your hair in between treatments, use your regular shampoo of choice.

It's recommended that you use Nizoral’s anti-dandruff shampoo every 3-4 days for 4 weeks to ensure it has fully fought off dandruff. Once the scalp has cleared up, use the anti-dandruff shampoo either once a week or once every two weeks to keep dandruff at bay. Take care to avoid getting the shampoo in your eyes. If you do get it in your eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If your scalp hasn’t cleared up after four weeks of treatment, consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
