The AS5048A is a high-precision, 14-bit rotary position sensor (encoder) utilizing contactless magnetic sensing technology. It provides a measurement resolution of 0.0219 degrees and offers both a digital angle interface (SPI) and a PWM output.
Designed for applications such as gimbal motors, the AS5048A measures absolute angular position over a full 360 range. It is suitable for setups where a simple two-pole magnet rotates above or below the sensor IC, and the zero position can be programmed into the device via simple SPI commands.
It delivers 14-bit resolution-equivalent to 16,384 measurement positions per revolution-with the digital value accessible via a serial interface (SPI).
