Synopsis:
In the 1950s, there were two major criminal gangs in Kansas, one Italian American and one African American. The opposing sides reached a rare peace at some point. To maintain the relationship, the leaders of both factions agreed to exchange their youngest sons.
Locke plays Loy Cannon, the leader of an African American gang, who has to send his own son to the enemy and raise the enemy's son. But later, the leader of the Italian Mafia went to the hospital for routine surgery and died, causing chaos.
The theme of this season is described as "Immigration, Assimilation, and What We Can Do for Money", the intersection and conflict of two immigrant groups: Italian Americans from Italy, African Americans who escaped from the southern United States to avoid the Jim Crow Act, and two gangs fighting for their own ideals of the American Dream.
