Synopsis:
The story is set in the 1980s in the United States, in a private high school on the outskirts of Detroit, where there are two types of students: weirdos and bookworms. Freaks are idle and cause trouble, while bookworms are weak and incompetent, only able to read. Lindsay (played by Linda Cardellini) has excellent academic performance. Because she doesn't want to be classified as a "bookworm", she proactively meets several "weirdos" and becomes their friends. Her younger brother Sam (played by John Francis Daley) is a complete bookworm, not only weak and incompetent himself, but also making a group of equally cowardly bookworm friends.
All kinds of students in school have to face their own growing pains.
