Passive double balanced mixer in an 8-pin surface mount plastic package (MsOP).
The passive MMiC mixer uses a GaAs Schottky diode and a novel planar transformer on-chip balun structure.
This type of device can be used as an upconverter, downconverter, biphase modulator and demodulator or phase comparator.
