Summary
- Authentic Sicilian pasta alla Norma sauce with fried eggplant, salted ricotta, and Italian tomatoes. A classic recipe inspired by the opera's premiere celebration in Catania.
Le Conserve della Nonna Norma Sauce 190g Description
This original Sicilian sauce alla Norma combines fried eggplant and salted ricotta with fresh Italian tomatoes in a rich, flavorful blend. According to tradition, the dish was created when a Catanian chef improvised a dinner for maestro Bellini and his guests after the opera's premiere, resulting in one of Sicily's most celebrated pasta dishes. Made with simple, quality ingredients including tomato puree, fried aubergine, and sheep's milk ricotta cheese. Perfect for preparing the classic pasta alla Norma.
