First off, let me state I am an amateur, and like taking local wildlife photography. I prefer Bridge Cameras, as I am not anywhere near enough of an expert, to play with SLRs. Glad I went with this, and not the newer model, as I was concerned about tremors, at high zoom. My concerns were founded, as I had to stabilise myself, to take long zoom photos. This is my issue, not the cameras, so if you are steady handed you shouldn't have any issues.
Takes excellent photos, at full zoom. So far all I have used it Auto, so cannot advise on the other functions, but this is a nice replacement for my Canon SX40.
Also love that the zoom function is on the left hand side, as well as the normal position.
Only minor niggle is USB micro charging, and no battery charger. But as a Brazilian River is selling charger with 2 batteries for £20, it is a minor niggle.

The camera is satisfying to hold and use. It is physically bigger than the sales picture portrays and the lens needs support when using the neck strap. Controls are similar to other bridge cameras. So far so good!
