This is somewhat heavier than the FZ Lumix 1000 it is replacing. With another 200mm of zoom compared to the Lumix, the optical quality in the telephoto range is improved.
The camera seems to have almost every function you can think of and a few more, all adaptable to your style of photography. It has superb quality for photos in low light, and the auto focus facility is quick and excellent. I have set the camera up for wildlife - you can autofocus with animal eyes!

The only thing that the Lumix has that is better is that the view screen flips over 180 degrees and this stops scratches. I would advise a screen protector for this camera.

The camera does use batteries quickly. Best to use the back touch screen sparingly ( this can be programmed). Best to have a spare battery. Recharge time is just over 2 hours.

I have yet to test this camera on safari. Previously my Bridge camera has been able to take photos quickly as animals and birds pop up. This camera is ideal for wildlife, wildlife autofocus tracking, and anyone who does not want to take a load of lenses with them on travels.

Been out and about with my new camera and i have no complaints it is an amazing kit. Their is a lot to learn still a long way to go before i pick up all the data but i will get there great camera
