The Original Series premiered on NBC on September 8, 1966, produced by Gene Roddenberry and starring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and DeForest Kelley. It is a story about the crew of the Enterprise, a starship belonging to the United Federation of Planets, and their adventure to boldly go where no one has gone before.
