Synopsis:
The plot of the second season consists of two parallel stories, both written, directed, and produced by Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz, with Jeff Cuban, Andrew Fierberg, and Adele Romanski involved in the production. The second season will focus on new characters, new interpersonal relationships, new plots, and new story locations, but the theme will not deviate from 'the cost of intimate relationships and their emotional consequences'. The story written by Lodge Kerrigan is set in Washington D.C., while the story written by Amy Seimetz is set in New Mexico. Kerrigan's story is set against the backdrop of the 2018 midterm elections in the United States, with a focus on the impact of corrupt black political funds - in the American political arena, everything can be done with money, and anyone can be bought with money as long as you know exactly their 'pricing'. Erica Myles (Anna Friel) is a strong willed and aggressive financial director of the Republican Super Political Action Committee. Anna Greenwald (Louisa Krause) is a confident and intelligent madam who is a top figure in the job market. Their paths are intertwined with unexpected stories, and their complex relationship will affect many people. At the beginning of the second season, Erica faced immense pressure to complete the fundraising plan for the Republican Super Political Action Committee. After meeting Anna, the two decided to extort a high-ranking fundraiser who controlled black political funds. When terrifying information about one of her old clients was exposed, she was forced to relocate to a remote area of New Mexico. She still yearns for the thrill of dangerous sexual relationships and cannot do without the luxurious lifestyle of high society. Therefore, she once again engages in bizarre and private transactions in the local area, trying to escape the poverty situation. When the dangers of the past come knocking on her door again, her new relationships with multiple men will redefine the profession of 'recruiting girlfriends'.
