Synopsis:
Tell the story of a young surgeon named Shaun Murphy who suffers from Scholar Syndrome (a condition that affects 10% of individuals with autism) and joins a renowned hospital called San Jose St. Bonaventure. This raises the question for everyone: Can a doctor who cannot establish a relationship with the average person really treat patients?
Freddie Highmore, who played the famous psychopathic murderer Norman Bates in "Bates Motel," joined forces to play the protagonist Shaun Murphy, who suffers from autism. Although he is not good at socializing, he has charming honesty and frankness; He suffered from a troubled childhood as a scholar syndrome patient and became a genius doctor. Nicholas Gonzalez plays Dr. Neil Melendez, the supervisor of a surgical resident. Antonia Thomas plays Claire Browne, a strong willed, caring, and intelligent doctor who forms a special bond with Shaun as she faces her own challenges. Chuku Modu plays Dr. Jared Unger, a resident doctor at the hospital.
Hill Harper, the lead actor of CSI: NY, will play Dr. Horace Andrews, the head of the hospital's surgical department, while Irene Keng will play Dr. Elle McLean, a resident physician. Richard Schiff plays Dr. Ira Glassman, the director of San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital. He is essentially a good person, but not a kind-hearted one. He started guiding Shaun when he was 16 years old, and he treated him like a son, so when he proposed to recruit Shaun, it was actually more about personal relationships than in public. Beau Garrett plays Jessica Preston, one of the hospital directors and a friend of Ira Glassman. Jessica sides with Ira when recruiting Shaun.
