Synopsis:
Tell the story of the rise of Yekaterina II Alexeyevna, the only queen in Russian history to be crowned as the "Great Emperor", and her relationship with her husband Peter III Fyodorovich. Catherine was introduced to Peter at the age of 10 as a tool for European royalty to use marriage to control political connections between countries. Although she admitted that she initially disliked him, they got married after she turned 16.
Their married life was turbulent, with rumors of extramarital affairs. Peter's temper became unbearable, and only six months after he ascended to the Russian throne, Catherine organized opponents to overthrow him and began her 34 year successful rule, while Peter was assassinated.
