Synopsis:
CBS, unable to perform well in their new comedy, turned their crooked ideas to Sheldon in "The Big Bang Theory". Earlier, they announced the development of a spin off prequel to "The Big Bang Theory", and now CBS has confirmed the pre order of a spin off titled "Young Sheldon" with Sheldon Cooper as the protagonist. The drama is scheduled to air in the 17-18 fiscal year.
The main character of this comedy is not Sheldon's adult version, but rather set against the backdrop of him when he was 9 years old. The series will also be produced in a single shot family comedy style like "Malcolm in the Middle," telling the story of Sheldon's family and school life in eastern Texas back then. Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady are the main creators and executive producers, while Steve Molaro, Todd Spiewak, and Jim Parsons, who played Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory, are the producers and executive producers.
In the past stories, we can learn that Sheldon's family includes his brother George, his twin sisters Missy, his religious mother Mary Cooper, and his alcoholic father George Cooper. In addition, Sheldon also has his grandmother (Meemaw) and grandfather (Pop Pop), who passed away when Sheldon was 5 years old.
