Who created Tamiya?
Tamiya was invented by Yoshio Tamiya in a small rural district of Japan located in the Miyagi Prefecture. At the time, he was the owner of a wooden sawmill and lumber business in Shizuoka, home of the infamous Mt. Fuji. After organising a wooden model department within the lumber company, Mr Tamiya decided to close the sawmill and specialise in model making. And that’s where the magic began…
Since then, Tamiya has dedicated the last 70 years to becoming the “First in Quality Around the World”, putting unbridled passion into every product they create. With an in-house production line, every last detail is thoroughly inspected and scrutinised before being put out for sale. So when it comes to quality, there’s truly nothing quite like Tamiya.
