The Wrendale brand
Hannah Dale founded Wrendale Designs in 2012 in Melton Ross, Lincolnshire. As a practical and artistic individual, she quickly turned her hand to sewing, furnishing the windows of many friends and family members with her beautiful curtains and blinds, while also creating personalised nursery paintings for children. Inspired by the stunning Lincolnshire countryside, Hannah later began printing her designs onto greeting cards, which became an immediate success in local gift shops.
Expanding her repertoire into other animals and flora, the brand further expanded into homeware, helped by a hugely popular collaboration with Portmeirion, which saw Hannah’s illustrations appear on mugs, ceramics, and melamine kitchen items. Collectors of this range also love the adorable tinware items on offer, including cake tins, storage canisters, and recipe tins.
Wrendale has also won many prestigious awards in recognition of their successes. In 2021, for instance, Hannah was awarded a NatWest Everywoman Award, which is given to the most inspirational woman running a business that’s been trading for six to nine years.
