Looking to buy Car Antifreeze?

Coolant for cars is typically called antifreeze. Composed of a 50/50 mix of ethylene or propylene glycol and water, it’s added to a vehicle’s cooling system, which circulates throughout the engine and radiator, to prevent overheating. If your car’s cooling system is functioning properly, it’ll effectively reduce the heat produced by the engine, and keep everything running smoothly. Most vehicles need a coolant service at around 100,000 miles, but some older models may require more regular servicing.

Lucky for you, we stock a wide range of the best antifreeze products available, including G13 engine coolant, and a variety of sizes, too, with many 5L volumes (and above) on offer. Take a look through the various options, to find your perfect fit in an instant!

Which antifreeze is best for my car?

The antifreeze you buy will be heavily dependent on the age and condition of your car. All coolants are made up of a base chemical, whether can either be green, pink or orange, but certain multi-vehicle products benefit from additives or dyes that are designed for use in higher-mileage vehicle types.

Typically, the temperature gauge will inform you of when to use a coolant, as it’ll read hotter than normal. Your vehicle may also require antifreeze if a grinding noise is coming from under the hood of your car, or it’s leaking or puddling beneath your vehicle.

Where do you put car antifreeze?

Antifreeze is a key component in keeping your engine cool. Checking your coolant regularly, therefore, is a great way to catch problems early, prompting you to add more antifreeze when required. To add it to your car, first ensure that the engine is turned off. Locate the engine coolant reservoir, and check the coolant levels. If it needs topping up, twist off the cap, add the coolant, and ensure it reaches the cold fill line, replacing the cap when you’re finished.
