What is hair toner?
Many beauty brands describe toner as a ‘topcoat for your hair’. It usually comes in a gel or gloss-like formula, and works to emphasise or minimise certain tones in your locks, as well as adding shine. A fabulous multi-use product, it naturally has a variety of benefits. As well as refreshing and enhancing your dye, it also adds dimension and depth, eliminating discolouration in the long run. Toners also strengthen your barnet by creating a protective barrier around the individual strands.
Wella Colour Charm T18 is often referred to as ‘lightest ash blonde’, as this is the colour it can help domestic dyers to achieve at home. Benefitting from Liquidfuse technology, it evenly pre-lightens hair and gentle removes brassy tones to achieve a perfect blonde every time. Working to saturate, penetrate, and fuse your hair, in order to deliver vibrant hues, it’s exceptionally fade-resistant.Â
Is toner bad for your natural hair?
No! Toner is designed to enhance your natural hair, and simply helps to neutralise its tone. Depending on your hair type and condition, it can last from two to six weeks, but this can be increased if you avoid harder water, sun exposure, and swimming pool chemicals, like chlorine. To protect your toner from fading between treatments, try wearing a hat in the warmer seasons, and limit your time spent in direct sunlight. When blow-drying or styling, it may also be worth investing in a heat-protectant, to nourish and illuminate your shade.
