Looking to buy Spirit Levels?
Whether you’re a professional builder or a gifted DIYer, when you measure up a wall for furniture or building work you want the most accurate results possible. And there’s nothing more accurate than laser levels! These great building gadgets project a precise beam of light at whatever you’re pointing them at. Easy to calibrate and simple to use, they’re any builder’s best friend.
The four types of laser levels
Laser levels are normally grouped into four distinct types. Each one is useful, but they’re all used for different purposes. We’ll quickly cover them all here so you know which one to pick up - you can get examples of all of them from OnBuy!
The most basic type of laser levels are spot lasers. This project a single dot or spot onto a wall in front of them. Many spot laser levels have a single point, but a few models are available that can project three or even five dots at a time in different directions.
Next up are line lasers. These lasers project an accurate beam of light in a horizontal or vertical line, depending on the model. They’re best for installing furniture that needs to be level. Carpentry and cabinets are good examples of this, as are tiling. Not only can you get line lasers that project a single line, but you can also get laser levels that project multiple lasers in 360° around the level.
Rotary lasers are laser levels with an adjustable pitch and yaw, this means they can be used to accurately measure and plan out slopes. The final type of laser levels you can buy are combination lasers. These lasers combine the functions of two or more laser levels for a more flexible gadget. Some of these combination laser levels include more traditional spirit levels that you can use alongside the laser level for different tasks.
