This Fabulous Quite Rare Garden Bulb Is The Result Of The Cross Of Crinum Moorei With Amaryllis Belladoona.

Amarcrinum Howardii Produces Evergreen, 30 Cm Long Leaves Reminiscent Of Crinum Borne At The Same Time As The Umbels (Umbrella-Like Clusters) Of Fragrant Large Rose-Pink Flowers Held On 50-60 Cm Stalks. These Look A Little Like Those Of Amaryllis Belladonna, Although They Have A Narrow Curved Tube Like That Of The Crinum. Each Topped With 6-8 Lovely, Large Pink, Exquisitely Fragrant Flowers. As Soon As One Stalk Finishes Flowering, Another Emerges And This Flowering Pattern Continues Until Frost.

Expect A Handful Of Blooms The First Year, A Much Better Showing The Second And Then Unbelievable Production In The Third Year And Beyond, With 10-15 Blooms On Every Flowering Stem!!

Plant With The Neck Just Covered By The Soil. They Like Full To Partial Sun And Deep Well-Drained But Moist Soil That Is Rich In Humus. Once Established, The Plant Tolerates Dry Conditions. Amarcrinum Howardii Can Be Grown In Large Deep Patio Containers. Water Well Whilst In Growth But Keep Dry In The Winter. It Is Used As A Specimen Plant For Its Sculptural Shape. Planted Near The House, It Perfumes The Local Air. It Will Naturalize Magnificently Over Time.
